Water the surface of the growing pockets and place additional water in the tray. Using warm water wil speed the expansion process; the pockets should be soft to the touch when swollen to their full size.
Sow seeds according to the seed packet instructions. As a guide, make a small hole in the top of each pocket and add one or more seeds, push in and cover with a thin layer of the compost. Maintain a temperature of 16-20 degrees celcius.
Place in an area of good, natural light and keep pockets moist, but do not over-water. Transfer the whole pocket to a larger pot or into the final position when the plant is large enough and the roots are well established.
