The rose typifies an old English country garden, and with care will last for many years bringing colour and fragrance to the garden, patio or terrace.  Special Moments Roses are the perfect way to send that special thought or show you care.   Our roses cover many different occasions from Weddings and Anniversaries through to Birthdays and to just say Congratulations.    At times of berevement finding a suitable something can be difficult.  We offer a range of Remembrance roses that sympathetically and delicately show your sentiments, for a loved one, a friend or a pet.

Planting

Our potted roses should be soaked for around 30 minutes prior to planting. Although plants will grow in a range of soil types they will appreciate the addition of compost, soil improver or well rotted manure.

Potted Roses can be planted at any time of the year

Position

A spot that has a minimum of four hours of sun a day is prefered and where the roots and not competing with other plants, especially trees and shrubs.

For maximum impact they can be planted in groups of three or more each spaced about 50cm apart and around a metre between neighbouring plants.

Dead-heading

To encourage re-flowering and a more athetic looking plant it is necessary to remove the dead flower heads.   Dead-heading is either the removal of the dead flower head or cutting the stem back to the first full leaf.

Winter Pruning

This is best carried out around January or February time.    Remove weak, old , dead and diseased stems and cut back to it's dormant state with stems around 10 - 15cms
